Featuring time-proven porro-prism optics and extra large objective lenses, the PF-Series of Spotting Scopes produce sharp, clear images with minimal chromatic aberration. All models feature lightweight magnesium-alloy bodies with waterproof/fogproof construction with a JIS Class 6 rating. High-refraction, low-dispersion, Lanthanum Crown (rare earth) glass elements are used for exceptional viewing and image quality. The 31.7mm American-standard eyepiece receptacle on each model accepts six different types of optional eyepieces. These versatile, heavy-duty Spotting Scopes are perfect for demanding use out in the field whether you are out looking for wildlife, bird watching or stargazing.

The series has expanded from seven focal lengths to eight from 3.5 mm to 40 mm. The XW series features a wide apparent angle of view (70 degrees), JIS Class 4 weatherproof construction and a long eye relief (20 mm). We have tested them and the eye lenses are very wide and have a huge "sweetspot", unlike some wide field eyepieces. The new design uses ED Lanthanum glass and the world's best PENTAX-SMC multilayer coatings.
The new XW series retains all the popular features of the current XL series, including the fully adjustable eyecups. All XW models feature a 70-degree apparent angle of view, an improvement over the 65 degrees of the XL-series while retaining the outstanding contrast and resolution. Cemented optical elements are coated internally with the innovative partial coating, which offers much higher light transmission capability than conventional outer surface coating, again a Pentax innovation. Thanks to advanced computer simulation technology, internal reflections are drastically reduced to produce brighter, clearer images.
