GIRO MOUNTS:
GIRO II is an alt-azimuth-mount designed, patented and produced in Germany. It is a flexible design capable of mounting almost any scope or two scopes at once. Mounts are designed to work with transportable but also extremely heavy telescopes in a similar way, than a Dobsonian. It has no slow motion control but uses large lock screws that act as clutches, Made completely of anodized Aluminum and stainless steel. The hand knobs are large molded easy to turn knobs. The GIRO II is designed to work on most contractor's style tripods as well as on the aluminum tripods common on new Chinese and Japanese telescopes. Available with either 3/8" mounting hole for camera tripods or 10mm screw threads for most Synta/Meade/ Vixen telescope mounts. The weight of the head is 4 ½ lbs. Fits well in any hand carrying bag and is airline transportable.
GIRO GR-Mini The Giro-Mini alt-azimuth-mount is designed and patented and "MADE in GERMANY". The GIRO-Mini Mounts are designed to work with transportable in a similar way, than a Dobsonian. It has no slow motion control, but on each of the both axis a hand knob to control the smoothness of the motions (turns). All anodized aluminum and stainless steel. The hand knobs are nice strong plastic knobs. The mounts are designed to work on 3/8" inch threaded better camera tripods. The weight of the head is 0.9 kg ( = 1.98 pound )It fits easy in any hand carrying bag and is therefore fully airline transportable. The arms are using metric threads M6 with axis spacing of 35 mm, matched to fit the Takahashi and similar Tube rings. The bottom base is diameter 30 mm with central 3/8" thread (tripod standard). Height is 2.75 inch x 2.5 inch wide.
